There exist other "Sanke" connectors, each with a letter. USA standardized on S, and I dare you to *try* and order a commercial keg that takes something else (given how much the concept of ordering a keg is an offensive concept to silk maggots). The other Sanke letters, I'm pretty sure, also use a "fluid out the top". ====== Ball Lock Corny Keg ====== a.k.a. Ball Lock Cornelius Keg, or Ball Lock homebrew keg, or pepsi homebrew keg. that's what I use. The gas post should be notched, or have some kind of non-standard marking. the fluid post should be extremely normal. ===== trivia: ball lock vs pin lock ===== There's also "pin lock". "ball lock" and "pin lock", are sometimes called pepsi and coke, respectively. From when soda was delivered in a keg. pretty sure i asked my dad and it's from before *his* time. * Pin lock kegs have pins on the post, so the connector is not interchangeable. * the lids are interchangeable. You want the ones that have a pull tab on them to vent pressure. * pin lock connectors tend to be half an inch taller.
