There exist other “Sanke” connectors, each with a letter. USA standardized on S, and I dare you to *try* and order a commercial keg that takes something else (given how much the concept of ordering a keg is an offensive concept to silk maggots)

As far as homebrew, there's “ball lock” and “pin lock”, a.k.a. pepsi and coke, respectively. (From when soda was delivered in a keg. pretty sure i asked my dad and it's from before *his* time). i don't remember what, if any, advantages one has over the other. I picked ball lock because the first good price I got on a used keg was ball lock. hashtag vendor lock-in.
